The sales started from May 2006 in Europe and from August 2006 in the USA. GT3 stands for pure driving pleasure. It is a race car for street and a street car for the race track. For the best transmission of engine power to the road, the GT3 is equipped with 19-inch Michelin Pilot Sport Cup street legal racing tyres and with a mechanical limited slip differential. 997 GT3 is also equipped with an Electronic Traction Control that can be switched off completely if required. New for the GT3 is a change-up display, which lights up on the rev counter shortly before the relevant engine speed is reached.
