Porsche 911 993 Speedster 1995, 2001

Porsche never officially released a 993 Speedster, however two were built by Porsche Exclusive.

1995 993 Speedster of Ferdinand Alexander "Butzi" Porsche
A dark green 993 Speedster with special brown interior and with Tiptronic gearbox was built for F.A. Porsche for his 60th anniversary in December 1995. It was a one-off for a one-off man who designed the original 911. From his head and his hands came a sports car design that has worked for almost half a century and there is no end to see. No other car has been in production since 1964 and still is. Of course it has had several generations meanwhile, but the design language is still the same.

S-FP = Stuttgart - Ferdinand Porsche. "S-FP 911" would have been even more perfect, but it was already taken.

Look the video below, made in December 2005 and found on Youtube. Sadly the presenter behind the camera was not worth meeting this extraordinary man - she even didn't know his name and calls him "Ferry". Ferry was the nickname of Butzi's father who had died in 1998 at the age on 88. Now, watch the video:

F.A. Porsche's 993 Speedster is the only 993 Speedster in the world that has born as a 993 Speedster.

1998/2001 993 Speedster of Jerry Seinfeld
The second 993 Speedster of 2 made by Porsche - the Jerry Seinfeld's Speedster - was a conversion of a 993 that he already had. Jerry agreed a Speedster conversion with Porsche Exclusive and sent the car from America back to Germany. Its conversion to widebody Speedster was finalized in October 2001.

As can be seen from the photo, it has the higher "american" suspension. High suspension could be practical for everyday car, but this showpiece should be as low as grass for the maximum impact...

The car was initially delivered with 996-style 3-spoke steering wheel, but was later changed back to 993-style 4-spoke.
