The event ![]() As we had so many participants this time and half of them arrived a day before, we held a first meeting already on Friday evening ![]() ![]() The main gathering started 10 o'clock on Saturday ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Class-ic... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The little brother... ![]() ...and the big brother. ![]() Sportauto.ee driver Kristjan Pappa ![]() Michelin Pilot Sport Cup is sticky ![]() Marcin couldn't wait for the track driving to start... ![]() ![]() 996 GT3 RS front hood is made of carbon fiber - compare to the hood on normal 996 GT3 ![]() Turbo cars need so much oxygen that wise drivers open the hoods before starting the engine ;-) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Michelin is winner's choice ![]() ![]() Power... never enough? 2008 Viper comes with 600 horses as standard and the ACR (American Club Racing) version makes it even more track oriented. Sounds like now you have got everything. But for Hennessey - and especially Roul - 600 hp is just a good start. ACR is the last of Roul's three Vipers that doesn't have the supercharger installed, yet. Better keep it that way to focus on driving and not on trying to keep the savage beast on the road. ![]() Looks like cognac advert? Hennessy and Hennessey have a one letter difference. The idea is quite the same - to let you taste something very good for reasonable price. ![]() Edvinas Mamedovas, the president of Porsche Club Lithuania - and Gintautas, a long-time Porsche connoisseur ![]() ![]() ![]() Andrey Gerasimov, president of Porsche Classic Club Russia ![]() The Cayenne S Transsyberia rally car is "a little bit" different from inside ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 2008 winner ![]() ![]() Tarmo didn't know that he was talking to the new champion to-become. Roul didn't know that either. ![]() ![]() Porsche 911 997 GT2 Clubsport - yes, really!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() CLK of Peter Ternström (Gran Turismo Events) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Your eyes don't lie - a GT2 with metal brake discs. Actually it is quite common view if you look at GT2's that are used on the race tracks (for what they were made for?). Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) are for the ones who like to look at brakes and talk about them. If you want durable long-lasting brakes, you must use metal discs. We don't know about other companies ceramic brakes, but Porsche has totally failed with them. A marketing division push-product, that Porsche engineers have not managed to finalize. ![]() GT2 exhaust pipes are trying to tell us a story... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Little Isabel wondering why daddy and race tracks are like magnets... ![]() Driver meeting ![]() Avo and James trying to make the understanding how to maintain safe driving on the track - the main priority of the event ![]() Avo Elme is one of the founders of the Open Track driver training events and the most imporant person of our event ![]() Guys from Sweden and Poland - thank you for making this trip to us! ![]() Veikko trying to imagine the sweetness of the victory. Hannu, too (4 times on podium, but not on the highest, yet) ![]() Matti Kylämarkula, former president of Porsche Club Finland and Porsche Racing Club Finland and Andrius Karnasnikovas, coordinator and main power of Porsche Club Lithuania ![]() ![]() You don't want to owe to these guys... ![]() Introductory laps behind Sportauto.ee 993 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Ready to rock (start line-up) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Many sportscar drivers consider open car as the most fun sports car ![]() Silver is the perfect color for a 964 ![]() Erik Sei couldn't compete this time as the week before he was in Finland watching WRC Neste Rally until a stone hit him in the eye from Sebastien Ogier's rally car. Erik spent two days in hospital in Finland and was released then. The man was on the feet on our event, but as he couldn't see with both eyes and the doctor said he shouldn't have any pressure on the eye for the next 30 days, he had to stay as a spectator. We hope from the heart, he gets his left eye working again. ![]() ![]() The best products in relevant categories: Motul by Motoral Eesti AS and Michelin by Kummimees ![]() ![]() ![]() Our mission was to keep them bored, otherwise it would have meant we didn't succeed with the event ![]() Sergei Zjuganov, one of the top automotive photographers in Estonia ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() GT3 GT3 GT3 GT3 GTB ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Note the red line running over the car with the steering wheel upper part matching this trim ![]() Roul has a car with Porsche badge, too, a Cayenne S - but he says it is not a Porsche. Roul knows what he talks. ![]() Vaida shooting her soulmate Andrius ![]() ![]() ![]() Peeter dancing with his 964 ![]() What a beauty... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Looks interesting, but this is actually what we don't want to see on our events. The focus is on full day SAFE driving, not on the prizes. We tried to explain that on our website before the event and also during the driver meeting. ![]() Similar cars (white 911's with large wing and black wheels), but different roads ![]() Coming to the pits after an off-road adventure is exactly what the organizers expect from the participants ![]() Pekka O. who started under #26 and managed to land also on 26th place on the final results list, making him the "average Joe" and therefore the winner of the Sei-award! ![]() ![]() 911LTU is actually parked up on the hill, although not visible from this angle ![]() ![]() Lithuanian on Lithuanian. The sequence of the cars is coincidentally correct as #52 Tomas was the best and #56 Edvinas was second among Lithuanians ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Eigirdas has missed the apex ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Something very special - a 911 993 Carrera S, the only RWD widebody 993. Less than 4000 pcs. produced. ![]() ![]() Absolute classic 1 - the power of right color scheme is huge ![]() Absolute classic 2 - Porsche designers set too high standards with designing the 993 and especially with the 993 Turbo. They are unable to reach that level anymore. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() WHAT WE DON'T WANT TO SEE 2 - Marcin was so eager to get to the podium that he even risked rolling over his 50-60.000 EUR car. That is a man's choice, but we don't like this risk on our event. Our event is about fun driving and not professional sports. Losing control of the car means, you can hurt yourself and maybe even some other car plus the track will be closed because of you and 50 other drivers must wait because of you. ![]() No need for the Cayenne. V8-powered Audi Quattro is a much better car. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And we start again... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Kari #45 seems to be a former rallye driver... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() WHAT WE DON'T WANT TO SEE 3. Lucky you, Pekka! We have seen cars on roof in this exact spot. ![]() After a pause following a lucky drive-off by Pekka M., we were on the track again... ![]() ![]() Estonian version of the Nordschleife Karusell ![]() Over 1400 hp's (incl. the 944 S2) ![]() ![]() It's 18:45, end of driving sessions ![]() ![]() ![]() Thank you, guys, for keeping eye on us. Sorry, but we are glad we could keep you bored. ![]() A perfect proof that nobody really doesn't need a Cayenne - not the 911 guy, nor the S-class guy ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Winner Roul ![]() 2nd place: Heikki (2007 3., 2008 3., 2009 5.) ![]() 3rd place: Hannu (2007 2., 2008 2., 2009 3.) ![]() ![]() Sei-award for the participant achieving the middle position in the final results list ![]() Pekka O. was the lucky Sei-award winner ![]() Sportauto.ee Best Racing Country trophy goes to Finland, again! ![]() Teemu, third fastest Finn ![]() Juha, fourth fastest Finn ![]() Matti, fifth fastest Finn ![]() ![]() Peter Ternström from Gran Turismo Events ![]() Peter presented a surprise prize - a GT Nürburgring 2011 all-inclusive participation package ![]() Tommy Sippo, president of Porsche Club Finland, handing over the PCF pennant to James Herne, a PCF member, for the work done in organising an event which many PCF members find interesting. ![]() On Sunday morning a photoshooting of the winners with their cars was scheduled, but Roul and Teemu had already left, so on the photo we have Heikki (2004 GT3), Hannu (2001 GT3), Juha (2000 GT3 with facelift look), Matti (2004 GT3 with Ruf front bumper) This year's prizes for the top 3 were as follows:
All podium places got 10 litres of the best motor oil, Motul 20W60 Le Mans, and 1 litre of the best brake fluid, Motul RBF 660, a gift from Motoral Eesti AS (value 3x185 EUR).
First 3 were awarded also with trophys and diplomas.A surprise prize was awarded by Peter Ternström from Gran Turismo Events. It is an all-inclusive Gran Turismo Nürburgring 2011 track days package (value >2000 EUR). The award was logically given to the fastest combination of man and machine: Roul + Hennessey ACR Viper!
New this year was a "Sei-award" for the driver who got the middle position in the final results list (list by cars - second drivers not counted in;
if there is even number of cars, the the first in the second half gets the award). This award was named "Sei"-award in the honour of Porsche Club Estonia vice president Erik Sei, who said we should make classes as he wants to get a
medal, too, with his 964. We are not communists and the wealthiest good driver wins. This year's Sei-award is a
MasterTreatment by Mr CAP Estonia. It is a car's full exterior and interior treatment (value 490 EUR). The award was won by Pekka O. who landed on position 26 among 51 cars. Coincidentally (!?) his car's racing number was "26", too.
Sportauto.ee Best Racing Country Trophy is temporarily given to the country which has the best drivers and the best cars. The times of 5 best cars
from each country are taken into account and the average time is calculated. The best country takes hold of the trophy until the next Sportauto.ee event.
The trophy has many places for plaques, so after every event the name of the winning country and the names of the drivers will be written on it.Winning country 2010 was again Finland, but not with so big gap as in 2009. In 2009 Estonian team lost to Finns by 1.430 seconds (average difference of 5 best drivers), but this year only by 0.433 seconds. Average lap time of 5 best Finns was 1:01,522 when Estonians averaged at 1:01,955 and Lithuanians at 1.08,912. Sweden, Latvia and Poland were represented by sole drivers only, so they could not form a country team. All members of the winning country received medals.
